Managing team assignments is a crucial part of organizing a successful, high-energy event. Whether you want a mix of random groupings or a highly strategic battle of the departments, the Confetti team has built-in flexible tools to help you coordinate your sign-up sheets with ease.
For any experience that features a team component, you have the ultimate flexibility to choose between Randomized Teams or Pre-Assigned Teams. If you prefer to have your teams randomized, you don't need to lift a finger - your host will seamlessly randomize your participants into teams right at the start of the event, requiring zero prep from you ahead of time! However, if you want a more tailored setup, our specialized Sign-Up Sheets are your new best friend.
⚙️ How Sign-Up Sheets Work
If you select the "Choose Your Teams" option during booking, our team creates a dedicated Sign-Up Sheet (typically a secure Google Sheet) mapped to your event.
We add this unique link right inside your Event Briefing so you can access it or pass it along to your team. Because these sheets are built on live templates, you have the ultimate flexibility to make real-time adjustments to your participant info or team structures right up until the exact minute your event starts!
🛠️ Choosing How to Collect Teams
When setting up your Pre-Assigned Teams, you can decide exactly how hands-on you want to be in your event briefing:
Provided by You (The Planner): If you already have the perfect team dynamic in mind, select this route. The Sign-Up Sheet won't be visible on the public invite page, giving you a private workspace to organize and lock in exactly who belongs on which team.
Participants Self-Register: We will place the Sign-Up Sheet link directly on your briefing's invite page. You can share this link, allowing your participants to jump in and self-assign to a team or group that catches their eye.
🏷️ Navigating Team Names
While picking your own teams is a blast, it's helpful to know that team naming conventions vary depending on the underlying technology of the game you chose:
Platform-Generated Names: Some of our most popular automated games (like Escape Quest or Mini Games) utilize specialized software that autogenerates theme-specific team names. These are a fixed feature to ensure standard gameplay, meaning they cannot be customized or renamed.
Custom Team Names: Other experiences (like Coworker Clash) give your team full creative freedom to invent their own names. If your game supports this, it will be clearly labeled directly on your Sign-Up Sheet!
🎤 Understanding Host Responsibilities
Our professional hosts are fully trained to manage the room and take the administrative pressure off your shoulders on event day:
No Pre-Assignments? No Problem: If you didn't submit a pre-assigned list, your host will divide the room, create the teams, and handle all the digital breakout room logistics when the event kicks off.
Self-Organized Rooms: For hybrid or unique event configurations where groups are organizing on the fly, your host will step in, explain the ground rules clearly, and gently guide participants through the process so it feels smooth and fun.
💻 Alternative Options for Google Drive Access
We know that some companies have strict security settings that might block access to Google Drive. If your team cannot access our Google Sign-Up Sheet, don’t worry - we have two easy workarounds to keep your planning on track!
Alternative Email: Simply share an alternative or personal email address with us that does have Google access, and we will gladly grant permission to that account instead.
Excel Version: We can provide an offline Microsoft Excel version of the sheet for you to use. If you opt for the Excel version, just make sure to fill it out and send it back to the Confetti team at least 1 business day before your event so we have plenty of time to transfer all your data into our system before the fun begins!
